Brass test nipples provide a conventient point of testing for gas and air. Whether it is for new installations or routine maintenance, pressure testing via a test nipple is required. It is is a requirement of the Gas Safety Regulations that test nipples are designed in such a way that if the cap is removed or leaks, the amount of gas that escapes is minimal due to the specifically sized orifice.
