Should you need to secure a roof window for safety reasons (ie for young children), you can fit a Velux opening restrictor. The special key (ZOZ 011) allows you to release the window for cleaning and with the restrictor in place the window is still capable of being opened to provide additional ventilation.
Please note that the opening restrictor can't be used on VELUX Top-Hung windows, GPL, GPU, GHL and GHU.
To check what type of VELUX roof window you have, you need to have a look at the type sign of the window by opening the sash and have a look at the ventilation flap.
